Player of the Season Award

The dream of getting close to a perfect 10 drives the players, but persistence makes it come true. To honor the greatest and most persistent players, we created this award.

To honor the players with the highest Sofascore Rating in their league, we created the Player of the Season award. The trophy is handed out at the end of each season to the most constantly great individuals on the pitch.

A field is where it all begins. It’s where you learn your first moves and get to know the game. It’s where you keep coming back and giving your best.

That’s why, from this season, a field is also present on and in every Player of the Season award — each trophy contains segments of a special field that is part of Zico’s Football Academy in Rio de Janeiro.

Now that we’re done renovating it, it will continue making dreams possible for the next generation.

We’re here for all the persistent ones. All the fighters. All the dreamers. We’re here because every game counts.

The launch event

A great game with Brazil’s greats.

A significant milestone for us was holding an event in Brazil — at the very field whose parts are in the trophy.

Symbolising the crown of the campaign, a special match between two teams composed of 40 former Brazilian football legends was played, along with children from the local community in the stands cheering on and meeting their idols.

As a highlight, we had the honor of presenting the trophy to Zico himself. We’re looking forward to a rematch! :)
